Swami has over 35 years of rich and varied experience in General Management, Finance & Accounting, Sales & Marketing, International Trading and Human Resources Management. He has performed multiple roles in Sales, Marketing and Operations, leading global teams in the Automobiles, Consumer Durables, Technology, Manufacturing and Services industries. He has also been associated with infrastructure projects in India and overseas. Swami has over the years successfully concluded and integrated key acquisitions in India, USA, Europe, Australia and Middle East in diverse sectors such as Automobiles, Healthcare, Capital & Consumer Goods and BPO. Prior to joining Manipal Health Enterprises he was the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Infosys BPO (a fully owned subsidiary of Infosys Ltd). Swami led the firm building a 25000+ team worldwide, of over 65+ different nationalities in their workforce, with global operations in 6 centers in India and over 18 centers outside India in Americas, Europe, LATAM and APAC. Recognized as a thought leader in the industry Swami is a key note speaker in many global conferences. - Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Ajay Bakshi is the Managing Director & CEO of Manipal Health Enterprises (Manipal Hospitals), the corporate healthcare and hospitals entity of the Manipal Education & Medical Group. Manipal Hospitals’ healthcare network comprises of primary, secondary and tertiary facilities. It has 16 hospitals covering 5,000 beds in India and overseas. Dr. Bakshi has played multiple roles - as a neurosurgeon, a stem cell scientist, a strategy consultant and as Managing Director & CEO of a hospital network in North India over the last 2 decades. He is a MBBS and M.Ch. (Neurosurgery) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. After finishing his Chief Residency, he has worked as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Vidya Sagar Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (VIMHANS), New Delhi. During this period he started a successful endoscopic neurosurgery practice, in addition to performing more than 600 major brain and spinal surgeries for complex neurosurgical conditions. In 2002, he transitioned to a research role at Dept. of Neurobiology, Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, where he built a research program around minimally invasive stem cell transplantation for spinal cord injuries. Based on an R21 research grant that he received from National Institute of Health, Dr. Bakshi developed and demonstrated the safety and efficacy of Autologous Stem Cell transplantation via lumbar puncture technique in animal models - a procedure that is becoming main stream for Human Stem Cell transplantation now. At the same time, he also completed the 2 year Wharton Management Program from The Wharton School. In 2005, Dr. Bakshi joined McKinsey and Company, New Jersey and served large US corporations in Medical devices, Hospitals, Pharmaceuticals and Health Insurance sectors around questions related to their Strategy, Organizations and Operations. In 2008, he moved to their Dubai Office and got an opportunity to serve Prime Ministers and Health Ministers of the Middle East and African countries on questions related to the design and effectiveness of their countries' Health Systems. In 2011 – Dr. Bakshi joined Max Healthcare as their CEO and within 9 months was elevated to the Managing Director role. During his tenure at Max, he led a succesful launch of 4 new hospitals as well as a comprehensive turn-around of the overall network.

Since December 2010, Mr Muthana has beenresponsible for driving the group’s procurement strategy and bringing down the overallmaterial consumption, in addition to heading the group’s flagship hospital in Bangalore. InJuly 2013, he moved full time into procurement and materials, keeping in line with theintense focus of the Enterprise to drive down material costs. Since then, Mr Muthana haschanged the face of the procurement and materials function, deploying many firsts in thisindustry, such as creating a Central Warehouse for supplies to all the group hospitals,appointing a logistics and supply chain partner for supplies of drugs and pharmaceuticalproducts. He also outsourced the procure to pay workflow, resulting in a lean and efficientprocurement organisation. He has deployed Ariba's Procure to Pay, Sourcing, ContractsManagement and Supplier Performance Management tools to bring in transparencyand smooth functioning of the procurement vertical. With all this, he has successfully drivendown the costs of materials used in the Enterprise significantly and also brought aboutimproved end-user satisfaction in the process. Previous Experience: Mr Muthana has been with the Manipal Group for almost 8 years in total as part of the seniorleadership team, mostly in hospital operations, during which period, he reported a consistent 14-15% growth in revenues year on year at the flagship hospital of the group. He had a two year stint as the Chief Operating Officer of Vikram Hospitals Pvt Ltd., during their rapid expansion phase. Prior to that, Mr. Muthana spent over 15 years in various hospitals in Kolkata, mostly at senior management levels. He has vast experience in dealing with Finance, Procurement, Hospital Operations, IT systems implementation, tackling Labour Union negotiations, etc.

Mr. Ganesh Selvaraj heads the Human Resources(HR) Function of MHEPL(Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.) and is currently responsible for building a High Performance Organization through various HR initiatives such as Reward and Recognition schemes, Leadership Development, Career & Succession Planning and effective people management. HR proactively strategizes, develops and implements organizational change management initiatives with a clear focus of developing and sustaining growth oriented culture which drives high performance and delivers the business strategy. HR focuses on promoting a compelling employer brand with a strong purpose to drive employee engagement. He contributes to crucial people related issues and information, resolution of critical people issues to ensure a healthy and safe working environment. MHEPL has won the Golden Peacock Awards for Training in 2014, Asia Training and Development Awards. MHEPL is also awarded two Asian HR Leadership Awards 2013 under the categories “ Institution Building” and Diversity & Human Resources”. Mr. Ganesh been with the Manipal Group for over 10 years, he joined Manipal Group in the year 2005 at MEMG and then moved to Manipal Universal Learning and then moved to Manipal Health Enterprises in 2010 heading the HR function and now as part of the senior leadership team closely involved in the transformation of the Workforce at Manipal Health Enterprises. He has overall 21 years of HR and IR experience in reputed Indian & Multinational companies such as Bayer Group, Hyderabad Industries etc.,
- Vice President -Projects and Engineering
Since Dec 2013, Mr. Ramakrishna has been responsible for driving the group’s healthcare project developments from concept to completion and setting up of engineering management functions of hospitals. Span of roles include total project management of reengineering, expansion and up-gradation of existing hospitals, design development to commercial closure for establishing brown field and green field projects in India and Malaysia. The specific responsibility includes identifying and engaging specialist consultants, designers and facility planners for best infrastructure designs, contractors and specialists for best indoor and exterior building and facility developments to the best industry standards and handover the projects for operations as per agreed timelines and costs. In addition to this role he has been also involved in setting up and improving strategies of maintenance management of existing properties, enable better controls on utility costs and improve life cycle costs and reliability of equipments. Prior to Manipal Group, Mr. Ramakrishna was in the Hospitality Industry with Taj Group of Hotels for over 9 years as a part of the project management team as the Area Manager for Bangalore and Sri Lanka and closely involved in the development of new flight kitchens in Chennai and Kolkata. He has been instrumental in getting Best Flight Kitchen recognition from SATS & MATS for Chennai, setting up Kolkata flight kitchen in 90 days, Blue Ginger restaurant in 90 days at West End Bangalore. Prior to Taj & EMPEE group, Mr. Ramakrishna was in Aruna Sugars & Enterprises Ltd and was instrumental in setting up first 3 star Deluxe Hotel Quality Inn in Chennai within timelines and costs and various other development projects in residential sectors. He also played a key role in setting up the 300 TPH Coal Handling Plant and 2 KM material handling projects at Paradeep with ALIND Hyderabad.
- General Manager-Operations (Andhra, Tamilnadu and Goa)
Mr. Gaurav Rekhi joined the Manipal group in September 14 and initially was responsible for driving four hospitals in three states Tamil Nadu, Goa and Andhra Pradesh. He has been responsible for operations of all these hospitals with P& L responsibilities. He has been instrumental in doctor engagements and introduction of new medical programs in all these hospitals. Since April 2015, he has been the regional Head with additional responsibility of covering Rajasthan (Jaipur). In his stint so far, he has been able to turnaround all hospitals. Prior to Manipal group Mr. Gaurav Rekhi has worked for 15 years in hospital industry in different capacities. He had started his career as Administrator hospital in Jammu in 1999 and then he had worked as Senior Administrator with Escorts, Okhla. After that he has spent long time with Fortis group in different capacities and last assignment with Fortis was as Facility Director. He had been involved in developing Day care surgical centre chain in North India with Nova Specialty surgery . He has also worked with Max healthcare in capacity of GM - operations as last assignment before joining Manipal group.
- Vice President – Information Technology
Mr.Nandkishor Dhomne has more two decades of experience in information technology domain with experience in various industry verticals like Manufacturing, IT Training & Software Development, Multimodal logistics, Airports & Infrastructure etc. Since Nov 2008, Mr. Nandkishor has been responsible for driving group’s digital hospital strategy for all MHE corporate Hospitals within India and Internationally. He is also responsible for technology implementations in teaching hospitals of the group within India. His key roles & responsibilities include Defining IT Strategy/Roadmap for a digital hospitals, Setting up and running IT organization, evaluation, selection and implementation of various Information Technology solutions and keeping them up-to-date, aligning IT initiatives with business requirements, process automation using technology solutions, analytics/dashboards, cloud & mobility, information safety and security, compliance, data center & connectivity etc. He has successfully setup an IT organization structure for MHE and implemented various technology solutions like HIS, SAP, PACS/RIS, Mobility, Dashboards etc. which are helping in improving efficiencies and better customer experience. Nandkishor Dhomne is a part of “The CIO Power List 2015” which is the only Exclusive Elite List of the most Influential CIOs within the country. He helped these organizations in setting up IT systems and rolling out business applications across the group companies.
- Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Sameer Agarwal joined us as Chief Financial Officer, Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Sameer is a Chartered Accountant by qualification and has completed his Bachelors in Commerce from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai. He has over 19 years of experience in strategic and operation finance across pricing, taxation, corporate accounting and treasury and investor relations. Prior to his association with Manipal Health Enterprises, Sameer operated as the Chief Financial Officer at 3M India Ltd. He has also held key positions at Marico, Coke, Ingersoll-Rand and Wipro. Mr. Sameer leads the finance team to operate an efficient and effective finance organization providing a variety of services to the business such as financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax and other finance operations. His main focus is to align business and financial strategy to improve the business' growth by driving business improvement initiatives such as improved enterprises cost optimization, pricing execution and other fiscal process improvements and innovations that add value to the organization. He focuses on compliance with financial regulations with the clear purpose of driving the company towards continued growth. Further, he plays an integral role in M&A, capital market financing strategies and other long-term investments of the company.
- Chief Officer – Strategy and Business Development
Since April 2011, Mr. Harinarayan Sharma has been responsible for driving the group’s healthcare strategy which includes acquiring new operating hospitals, both nationally and internationally, establishment of green field hospitals, design and development of expansion plans in existing hospitals, development of new lines (alternate formats) of business in the healthcare space. The specific responsibility includes identifying national and international opportunities for acquisitions, commercial negotiations, undertaking due diligence and closure of transactions. In this stint, he has also been involved in preparation of long term strategic perspective plan and in implementing three rounds of Equity fund raise. With the closure of the current round of raising funds, the undertaking has witnessed a 10 times increase in business valuation over the last 9 years. Previous Experience : Mr. Harinarayan Sharma been with the Manipal Group for over 10 years as part of the senior leadership team closely involved in corporatizing the family run business, raising funds and structuring/divestment of various investment. In a stint of 4 years in the Holding company (MEMG), was involved in structuring and evaluating new business/investment opportunities in the education and allied healthcare spectrum which include incubation and exit of investment in a school services company, strategic sale of a bio medical services company to an Italian major, incubating a comprehensive institutional Catering and Dietary services entity, an angel investment in a medical device manufacturing venture, facilitating investment and post investment monitoring of Tele Radiology business in UK. Prior to Manipal Group, Mr. Harinarayan Sharma has worked for over six years with Infrastructure Leasing and Financial services (IL&FS) in the Investment Banking team (Head, East & South India), where he managed an asset book of over Rs 400 crs. He has also been with the Tata Steel Group (Jamshedpur) for 12 years where he played an integral role in the Group Synergy and Capital Planning Division overseeing the operations and investments of 18 Tata Steel Group Companies.
- Medical Director & Chairman – Medical Advisory Board
Dr. Sudarshan Ballal is an expert in nephrology, with about 34 years of experience behind him. Dr. H. Sudarshan Ballal was the best outgoing student (Blue Ribbon awardee) of the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and a recipient of many Gold Medals in MBBS and M.D. In his training days in USA he had the distinction of being one of the few to be a triple Board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology & Critical Care. He has the rare distinction of being appointed as Professor of Medicine with St. Louis University School of Medicine (USA) and is also Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Manipal University. He was conferred the fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London for his contribution in Medicine. After working as a Consultant in Nephrology and Transplantation at the St. Louis University School of Medicine, he moved back to India to head the Nephrology Unit at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. He has been with Manipal Hospital, Bangalore ever since its inception and is currently the chairman of the Medical Advisory Board and Medical Director of Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt Ltd. He has also been nominated as a Member of the Senate of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is a member of the senate of Manipal University, Karnataka. “Preventive measures are very important and I think even doctors should be educated on this, which is why we focus the preventive measures, rather than dialysis and transplantation”, Dr. H.
